Empower Hires Marketing Science and Operations Heads

In New York, Empower Media has appointed Yating Sun as EVP Head of Marketing Science, and Art Zambianchi as Chief Operating Officer.

Empower was founded in 1985 by Mary Beth Price, and acquired in 2018 by her son, Jim Price, who then ran the business. Entrepreneur Ashlee Clarke recently became a majority shareholder in the company, while Jim Price will remain with Empower for one year as Non-Executive Chairman.

Sun joins after five years at Meta, where she latterly served as Global Marketing Science, Tooling Lead, helping develop the company's real-time media mix modeling platform. Before this she worked for Dentsu-owned Merkle as Analytics Manager. Zambianchi joins from GroupM, where he served most recently as Executive Director for Mindshare, overseeing accounts and operations across the US network, having previously headed the Chicago office of Mediacom. Earlier he was Head of Global Advertising and Brand for Motorola Mobility, and he spent more than a decade at DDB, Publicis/Hal Riney and Starcom.
