Jon Peddie Opens Management Consulting Division JPRi

Tiburon, California-based company Jon Peddie Research has launched a consulting division to be known as JPRi. The new unit will provide strategic advice on product pipeline, marketing roadmap, M&A opportunities, and internal efficiency for clients in the Game Tech market.

Jon Peddie Research provides consulting, research, and other specialized services to tech companies in various fields, and a year ago was in acquisitive mood, buying UK-based display sector media and data firm Display Daily and benchmarking site Babel TechReviews.

The new JPRi business (Jon Peddie Real Intelligence) will focus initially on gaming hardware and software, and expand in time to other other markets covered by the parent firm. Ted Pollak (pictured), currently the firm's Senior Game Industry Analyst, will handle corporate and government contracts while company President Jon Peddie will help start-ups, each assisting the other as needed.

JPRi will charge an annual retainer of $250,000, and will limit its active client list 'to ensure full availability'.

Peddie says that over fifteen years Pollak has 'predicted the viability and timing of critical technologies with amazing accuracy', and 'created successful investment strategies with major firms emulating his creations, and investments in the game tech ETF theme he created approaching $1 billion'. He adds: 'We believe he can provide invaluable perspective for roadmap decisions with the possibility of introducing completely new ideas that might not be obvious to senior management'.

Pollak comments, 'JPRi germinated with the advanced algorithms we developed for market analysis. We have been honing the JPR Real Intelligence Engine for over a decade. As the market will soon see, artificial intelligence can be garbage in/garbage out. It's only as good as its architect, training, and access to quality data sets. Large corporations will benefit from JPRi's outside perspective, which is not rooted in internal culture or legacy consulting businesses.
