In Pittsburg, USA, retail sector VoC specialist First Insight, Inc. has launched an app called My INSIGHT, promising merchants, designers and planners better understanding of their consumers for purposes including assortment building and rationalization.
The firm's Insight Suite provides clients with recommendations based on consumer inputs, across five decision areas: Strategy & Planning; Design, Merchandising & Sourcing; Pricing; Supply Chain; and Marketing & Selling. The new app allows users to make selection decisions using a 'swipe left / swipe right' approach, and then compare the outcome with similar results for target consumers.
Among the benefits, First Insight says clients will get a better understanding, faster decision-making and implementation, and reduced danger of internal bias including 'group-think'.
The app will initially be available for free on a limited basis to InsightSUITE customers via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. CEO Greg Petro comments, 'Merchants are very busy and competitive. They want to know how their point of view aligns with their target consumers so they can build winning assortments, and they want to do it whenever and wherever they are. We now enable that flexibility and speed, and we are making it fun to do it in an app that feels more like a game than work'.
