London-based analytics / business intelligence start-up Fluent has secured $7.5m in seed funding for its mission to democratize insights using conversational AI.
Fluent is led by CEO Robert Van Den Bergh and CTO Cameron Whitehead. The firm's software taps Large Language Models (LLMs) to simplify the interrogation of business data, integrating natural language processing with business databases. Users can ask questions in plain English, removing the need for SQL skills and/or lengthy dashboard development time.
The round was led by Hoxton Ventures and Tiferes Ventures, and funds will help speed up tech development and recruit AI and machine learning experts across Europe.
Van Den Bergh (pictured) comments: 'On average, 40% of a data team's time is spent answering questions from across their business. A lot of these questions are easy to answer for the data team but take them away from the deeper, more strategic analysis that can be transformative to their business. With Fluent's natural language interface, we're helping team members self-serve on their data questions'.
