Miami-based PR platform Muck Rack has enhanced its measurement and reporting capabilities with new features for areas including media impact analysis, brand reputation insights and competitive analysis.
Founded in 2009 by Gregory Galant and Lee Semel, Muck Rack promises to help clients 'build trust, tell their stories and demonstrate the unique value of earned media', using data provided by journalists themselves and providing them with free tools to showcase their portfolios, analyze news about any topic and measure the impact of their stories. The company raised $180m in a Series A round of funding eighteen months ago, and recently expanded its global media monitoring capabilities to include more than 600,000 global news sources and more than 3.5 million articles a day, spanning online, television, radio, newsletters and print.
The firm's dashboards also now provide a Relationship Summary, to help users track relationships with journalists; Outreach Performance to measure the effectiveness of pitches; and bulk updating of multiple widgets using the same data source. New widgets and reporting capabilities for measuring PR KPIs include Historic Comparison, for up to five years of data; a single metric giving Total Placements in broadcast, digital and print media over time and by source; local, national and total Broadcast Audience and AVE (advertising value equivalency): and Share of Voice by UVM, by total placements and over time. Word Cloud visualizations for sets of press coverage will be added shortly.
Co-founder and CEO Galant (pictured) comments: 'We set out to change the measurement game for communicators and PR professionals by delivering customizable tools and insights that enterprises need to drive their businesses forward. This is just the start of our significant investment in our measurement and reporting features. We'll continue to deliver innovative solutions that leverage the very best of AI and our data powerhouse to support the entire PR workflow from research and pitching to monitoring and reporting'.
