Milieu Upgrades Canvas Platform

July 9 2024

In Singapore, survey software firm Milieu Insight has announced major enhancements to its flagship Canvas platform, including the ability to connect customer lists and other external sample. An automated report-builder and AI assistant are also slated for launch soon.

Gerald AngCanvas promises intuitive tools for survey design and distribution, data analysis, visualization and reporting, and provides access to 'Portraits' profiling data on Milieu's panel of more than two million Southeast Asian consumers. The firm raised $5m for product development and expansion in 2021, roughly tripling its funding after an earlier raise.

Canvas now boasts an improved visual survey builder, which part-automates the survey building process by means of a flow-based approach and comprehensive mapping capabilities; as well as new panel and data integration features, and direct communication channels between brands and survey takers. The platform features email and database cleaning capabilities to ensure surveys are sent only to valid email addresses; and a significance-testing tool.

The latest edition also includes more question formats and a 'consolidated list view', equipped with editing tools, giving users an overview of survey content and simpler navigation. Brands can also connect external lists including their own customer databases to Canvas, allowing them to survey consumers from 'nearly anywhere in the world', according to the firm.

Founder and CEO Gerald Ang (pictured), a former Commercial Director at GfK and MD of YouGov Thailand from 2015 to 2017, comments: 'Canvas will enhance the entire research supply chain, spanning from the launch of surveys to the creation of insightful reports. Soon, we will introduce Milieu Reports - a data visualisation tool that will empower clients to seamlessly create charts or infographics for their reports in seconds, to effectively communicate actionable insights to their stakeholders. As generative AI technology advances, we are dedicated to automating the time-consuming and often tedious aspects of market research'. This will include the launch of Flash, an AI survey assistant for survey design and fully integrated into the visual editor.
