Software Releases for QuestionPro and Creative

September 28 2005

Online survey provider QuestionPro has added a 'Market Research Toolset' to its data collection and analytics services. The tools offer online panel management features, conjoint and TURF analysis, and real-time notification of satisfaction scores. Meanwhile, Creative Research Systems has launched a PDA Module for its survey software package.

The new QuestionPro toolset provides self-service software solutions to help users recruit, maintain and operate online panels. The company hopes that, by making panel management easier and putting users in control, it will encourage clients to conduct more research.

The newly introduced analytics tools include the following:

  • Grouping and segmentation - Users can create segments or profiles based on responses to surveys or pre-existing data. Target groups can be segmented for comparative analysis.
  • Gap analysis - This can determine the correlation between customers' importance and satisfaction scores.
  • Total Unduplicated Reach and Frequency (TURF) analysis - this assesses which combination of product lines or distribution channels achieve the highest consumer interest. The tools allow users to simulate every combination of choices.
  • Conjoint Analysis - Consumers are asked to rate different profiles, and the software then calculates the relative importance of the different attributes of a product. This data can also be used to analyse how new product introductions might re-align market share.
'As former analysts, we know what tools and features are needed to turn data into decisions,' says Vivek Bhaskaran, Founder and CEO of QuestionPro. He believes the new features will 'help researchers get better insights from their surveys and polls'. QuestionPro is online at www.questionpro.com

Creative Research Systems' survey software package, known as The Survey System, is currently available for web, paper and phone-based surveys. The new PDA Module allows interviews to be conducted using Windows-based handheld computers - designed for in-person interviews in public places such as shopping malls.

All questionnaires created in The Survey System can be used on PDAs, online, email, paper or phone without further editing. The system optimizes surveys for the small screen size and slower connections of handheld computers, and can automatically combine data from multiple handhelds.

Sample PDA surveys are online at www.surveysystem.com/pdasurveys.htm.
