Three US agencies have launched a charitable venture to provide food for hungry people in the US. Named Marty Green's Lunch, in honour of the father of MR company owner Roger Green, the program already has volunteers from 60 MR organizations committed to covering more than 53 locations.
The consortium of three agencies, Roger Green and Associates, Inc. (RG+A), Seek Research, and Schlesinger Associates, collectively known as SEEDS - Cultivating Good, bill the one-day volunteer program as an attempt to 'bring the Marketing Research community together to feed the hungry'. Volunteers will serve lunch on July 24th, ask their co-workers to donate food and hygiene products to their food bank or soup kitchen, and raise donations inside their organization for the charity Feeding America, formerly known as Second Harvest.
The goal of the group, steered by Roger Green and Colleen Cera at RG+A, is to reach all 206 food banks supported by Feeding America.
Marty Green, a keen supporter of Feeding America and described as 'a unique man - entrepreneur, humanitarian, donor to causes, husband, and father', was born in 1921 and died in 2006.
SEEDS are looking for volunteers to create a web site, blog and other media to promote the venture: contact Roger Green at rgreen@rogergreen.com , Colleen Cera at ccera@rogergreen.com or 'phone 267-744-6411.
