Angus Reid Names UK General Election Team

April 9 2010

Angus Reid Public Opinion - the global public affairs practice of research technology firm Vision Critical - has fielded a team of experts who will provide commentary and analysis during the UK's 2010 General Election campaign.

Angus ReidHaving previously provided polling forecasts in Canada's federal provincial elections, Angus Reid Public Opinion is now shifting its focus to offer coverage in the UK. The company has also linked up with political blog PoliticalBetting.com to run online polls to track voter intentions leading up to the UK election in May.

Led by Canadian pollster Dr Angus Reid, the new team includes former YouGov exec Laura Davies, who is now SVP of Panel Strategy; Andy Morris, Research Director of the firm's UK practice; Research Director, Hamish Marshall; and VP, Mario Canseco.

As the 6 May General Election draws nearer, the team will provide a detailed look at the underlying issues that may affect allegiances, as well as analysis of the way the British electorate reacts to the first ever televised debates featuring the three main party leaders.

'We have assembled a group of experts who have ample experience in electoral campaigns and the intricacies of British politics,' stated Reid. 'We expect to prove once again that interactive and intelligent online research can be successful in predicting electoral outcomes all over the world.'

Separately, this autumn, Angus Reid Public Opinion will cover the congressional mid-term elections in the United States.
