In South Africa, Ipsos Markinor has brought together its field and tab work into a specialist business unit called Observer. In addition to omnibus and international research teams, the unit includes a team conducting client projects for which only data is required as a deliverable.Markinor, which was founded in 1975, became part of Ipsos in 2007. The firm offers quant and qual expertise including large surveys throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
'Ipsos Observer clients are typically either those who are research savvy and have the means to analyse data in-house without the need for specialist researchers, or those who have limited budgets but still require field and tab-style research to help them make better business decisions,' explains Margie Teixeira, Business Unit Director of Observer.
'We are also able to accommodate those clients who sometimes require full-service research solutions and sometimes field and tab solutions,' she adds.
