In the US, full service agency The Dieringer Research Group (DRG) has acquired the customer base of neighbouring field research firm Lein/Spiegelhoff, which is closing after 38 years in business.Lein/Spiegelhoff's services include focus groups, individual interviews, phone surveys, product placements, central location testing, ethnographic studies, mock juries, taste tests, in-home interviews and music tests.
DRG is almost the same age - it opened in 1974 - and provides qual and quant marketing research and consulting services to companies from a wide range of industries. DRG President Lanie Johnson (pictured) said that the acquisition 'dovetails perfectly' with the construction of her firm's new focus group research center, which is scheduled to open in November.
'This is a perfect situation for us and Lein/Spiegelhoff,' states DRG SVP and CFO, Robert Dieringer. 'We look forward to blending the Lein/Spiegelhoff 38 year field service tradition with our 36 year history of offering full service marketing research.'
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
