In the UK, Chime's Research & Engagement Division has hired Patrick Meakin to head up its automotive practice. The division includes Opinion Leader Research (OLR), field and tab agency Facts International, and recently acquired consumer behaviour consultancy Tree.
In his new role, Meakin will be based in Opinion Leader's central London offices. He joins from research and training consultancy Lorien Connect, where he led the research division. Prior to this, he held AD positions at agencies Network Research and BJM Research & Consultancy.
Meakin is experienced in automotive research, having been primarily responsible for large-scale quant projects in the areas of product and customer satisfaction, using the full range of research methodologies.
'Patrick is a well-known industry figure and an excellent team player,' states the division's CEO Crispin Beale. 'He will be an invaluable addition to the business, and we look forward to him further bolstering our automotive practice and adding value to our broad range of clients.'
In recent weeks, Beale has poached a number of client-side directors from Royal Mail, Givaudan and PricewaterhouseCoopers, as well as individuals from agencies including Toluna, Synovate and Ipsos MORI.
Meakin's appointment comes off the back of Beale's pledge earlier in the year to rebuild the 'House of Influentials', by hiring the best and brightest talent from the industry.
