BlackBerry smartphone manufacturer Research in Motion and web analytics specialist Webtrends have partnered to develop a solution which enables BlackBerry developers to add measurement options to their applications. The firms say their new 'BlackBerry Analytics Service' will help developers to uncover insights about how customers use their apps, while evolving their apps in a way which will drive loyalty, increase use and potentially lead to new avenues of revenue.
This service is powered by the Webtrends Mobile Analytics platform, which was launched earlier this year, to measure all drivers of traffic to mobile sites, including paid advertising, other web properties and social media tools and networks.
Using the Webtrends platform, developers can integrate tracking into their apps to measure app use, frequency of use, loyalty of users, screens accessed and features used.
Curtis Sasaki, VP Product Management at Research In Motion, says that with just a few lines of code, developers can now add Webtrends analytics to gain access to a range of measurements.
'Webtrends has a truly powerful and incredibly comprehensive platform for creating, measuring and improving content across all digital channels and mobile is no exception,' states Webtrends CEO Alex Yoder. 'We are thrilled to deliver insight and value to the BlackBerry developer community.'
