In the UK, online marketing research specialist OnePoll has appointed consumer trend authority William Higham as Managing Director.Bristol and London-based OnePoll - which is part of PR and market research group 72 Point - specialises in conducting online polls for the PR industry, but with Higham's appointment it is planning to extend into the marketing and advertising sectors.
Higham specialises in interpreting research, and understanding and predicting consumer change. For the last nine years, he has run his own management consultancy The Next Big Thing, offering 'early warnings' of future market trends: this company will now be integrated into OnePoll. He is the author of a book on consumer trends - also called The Next Big Thing - which was published last year. Earlier in his career he founded marketing and research consultancy WHM, and served in senior marketing roles with Polydor, Virgin Records and Sony Music.
According to Higham, OnePoll's aim now is to create 'new, low-cost, marketing-focused research packages that enable any company to analyse and predict customer behaviours and attitudes, to test new products, and to assess their marketing strategy and tactics'.
