DIY market research solution GutCheck has closed a $2m Series A round of funding. The money will be used to launch its platform, support its sales and marketing strategy, and grow the number of participants in its online panel.
Headquartered in Denver, CO, GutCheck provides a DIY platform which connects businesses and marketers to 3.5 million panelists. When a qualified match is found, GutCheck initiates online, anonymous, 30-minute one-on-one interviews with consumers, at a cost of $40 per chat.
Currently in closed beta, GutCheck is the brainchild of investment specialist Matt Warta , and survey software firm iModerate's co-founders Carl Rossow and Jen Drolet. The founders have partnered with two undisclosed panel firms, which have provided the pool of respondents.
This first round of funding was led by Highway 12 Ventures, iModerate, Village Ventures, Benenson Strategy Group and several entrepreneurs in the market research industry. As a result of the financing, George Mulhern of Highway 12 Ventures will join the company's Board of Directors.
'We're excited to have this group of investors on board to help carry out GutCheck's mission of giving marketers and others the unique and affordable opportunity to surround their ideas, concepts and strategies with real-time feedback,' states Warta.
