In the UK, Colin Auton has been promoted to the position of Managing Director at Ci Research, replacing Ian Font who becomes Chairman of the firm.
Auton (pictured) originally joined Ci Research in 1992, to support a wide range of multi-national clients in the chemicals, distribution and public sectors. He left in 1997 to become Research Manager at Bank of Scotland, before returning to Ci as a Research Director in 1999.
Last year, Ci Research launched a new financial services team, consisting of four individuals and headed by Auton.
During the year, the Wilmslow, Cheshire-based company was acquired by its management team, led by Font and fellow investors Auton, Andy Wright, Richard Walker and Katie Waterhouse. The firm employs 30 people and offers a tailored approach to market research for both private and public sector clients.
As part of the latest Board restructure, Wright retains responsibility for public sector and operations, Walker for business development and marketing, and Waterhouse for the company's 'people strategy'.
'It's nearly 20 years since I joined Ci Research, and I'm delighted to become the agency's new MD during such an exciting period of growth,' states Auton. 'Ian will still be involved of course, but his success as the outgoing MD leaves an impressive legacy.'
Auton adds that his role will evolve to include a more strategic focus, which will provide the firm's account directors and managers with increasing autonomy.
