In the UK, experienced social and market researchers Jon Batterham and Tom Levesley have launched a new agency - Chrysalis Research - specialising in education, employment and skills, and health. With more than 30 years' experience of research and policy work across the private, public and voluntary sectors, the new partnership will operate as a dedicated senior team, collaborating with associates as necessary. The company will specialise in qualitative research but will work across a full range of methodologies, promising effective research design, contextualised findings and informed recommendations.
The partners previously headed up the research team at education consultancy EdComs, between 2005 and 2008. Batterham left only recently after seven years as Head of Research, following earlier spells at JRA and Research Works.
Levesley's most recent position was Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of Employment Studies. He previously worked as a primary school teacher before moving into policy and research at QCA. He has also worked at ORC International, NFER and the Home Office.
The new company's name was chosen to evoke transformation, reflecting how research can support the development of people and ideas.
