US-based e-commerce marketing specialist GSI Commerce has acquired advanced ad analytics firm ClearSaleing. Terms were not disclosed. The deal has been struck by GSI's Global Marketing Services (GMS) division, which provides a range of interactive marketing solutions to help clients drive customer acquisition, conversion and loyalty across multiple channels. Additionally, the division provides brands and retailers with platforms through which to engage directly with consumers.
ClearSaleing - which offers marketers insight into their online ads - has developed an ad analytics platform that enables users to compare and optimize profit and ROI for their online ad campaigns. In addition, the firm recently developed the 'Multi-Brand Attribution' system, through which advertisers can analyze consumer response to their multiple brand web sites in one platform.
GSI says the acquisition of ClearSaleing -which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of the GMS division - broadens and deepens the division's portfolio of marketing services offerings and overall market position.
As part of the deal, Deann Harvey, currently Chief Sales Officer of the GMS division, will serve as ClearSaleing's Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for building its sales team and growing its client base among global advertisers and agencies.
'ClearSaleing gives marketers the ability to understand the entire customer purchase path and how each online channel works to move a customer from acquisition to conversion,' explains Chris Saridakis (pictured), CEO of the GMS division. 'We're very pleased to welcome ClearSaleing to GSI.'
