In the UK, customer intelligence specialist Indicia has taken a stake in social media and search consultancy Make It Rain. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.Founded in 2002 by MD Ian Stockley, Indicia uses proprietary tools to gather customer intelligence. The firm offers a range of insight services including character-based segmentation, web analytics and a combination of traditional econometrics with customer analytics which uncovers the factors driving customer behaviour.
London-based Make It Rain designs and delivers social media, search engine optimisation and paid search campaigns. Under the terms of the deal, the company will continue to operate under the same name, led by MD Justin Hayward.
The investment will give Indicia access to Make It Rain's specialist skills, to enable it to expand its digital media offering, while Make It Rain will incorporate Indicia's customer-driven marketing into its campaigns.
Stockley says there is 'a natural fit between the two agencies, with Make It Rain having a proven track record of delivering responsive search and social media campaigns, underpinned by a deep understanding of customer behaviours.'
