London-based online qualitative agency nqual has launched Rich Focus, a tool which provides real-time translation of focus group discussions.Founded in 2005, nqual offers a platform which replicates offline qual techniques and communications in an online environment - such as online focus groups, online diaries, online forums and MROCs (market research online communities).
Its new solution allows research customers to view live, text-based discussions in their chosen language while the focus group is taking place.
MD Jeroen Verheggen states: 'I think we have achieved something unique for the industry by combining the strength of machine learning in translations with real-time online focus group discussions. It will be fantastic for researchers and their clients will no longer have to fly to foreign countries, but can instead follow a discussion happening in Spanish, German, Mandarin or whatever language, in English.'
The new translation tool is already available as part of a Rich Focus license, and will also be available as a bolt-on for pay-as-you-go customers.
