In the UK, legal sector market research specialist Acritas has reported a 'record' 60% rise in turnover to £1.6m for the year 2010. The firm is now planning to secure work in China as part of its worldwide expansion.Acritas, which provides research services to professional and financial services organisations, offers both custom-made research programs and access to syndicated market data to provide insight on client attitudes and behaviors. Its sharplegal survey tool gives a picture of market trends, as well as how buyers perceive one firm against another.
Founded in Newcastle in 2002, Acritas now has offices in New York and London and employs 30 staff. It is currently looking to expand into China, which CEO Lisa Hart describes as a 'key market' for the firm's future growth.
Hart said she is delighted with the end-of-year results, adding: 'Thanks to a very strong start to 2011, I am confident we will be able to build on that success. The international legal sector is highly competitive and, if firms want to compete effectively, they need early warning of emerging industry trends as well as information about how they are perceived within the industry and by clients.'
