In Sri Lanka, Kantar-owned LMRB (Lanka Market Research Bureau) has promoted Himalee Madurasinghe to the post of Chief Executive Officer, after 14 years with the firm.
Established in 1981, LMRB was the first independent market research consultancy in Sri Lanka and is now an affiliate of Kantar-firm IMRB International.
Madurasinghe has spent the last 14 years at the company, during which time she headed the LMRB Household Panel for seven years and gained extensive experience in consumer behaviour research. She was named Head of Quantitative Research in 2006, and became Deputy CEO last year.
Thomas Puliyel, President of IMRB International, commented: 'We are very privileged to have a person of Himalee's capability and dynamism to lead LMRB into the next phase of growth.'
Madurasinghe replaces Preeti Reddy who has returned to India to take up a post with IMRB. The company currently has plans to establish a Social Research and Shopper Research unit, use electronic devices to enhance data collection, and launch the single source marketing media survey TGI in the country - the latter will be available early next year.
