In Germany, opinion research agency dimap has upped its stake in polling specialist Infratest dimap from 26% to 49%. Infratest dimap is a joint venture formed by dimap and TNS Infratest, which holds the remaining 51% share.Berlin-based Infratest dimap, which was founded in 1996, is the exclusive partner to Germany's leading public TV firm ARD for all surveys and election night polling.
The company also specialises in country and political trend analysis for radio stations, newspapers, journals and magazines across Germany, as well as for government agencies, associations, universities and commercial organisations.
Telephone surveys are managed by dimap, while other data collection for quant studies is carried out by TNS Infratest. The partners say that they are currently reaffirming their 15-year collaboration by extending the JV's activities in response to the increasing digitization of Germany's economy and society.
Infratest dimap's team will continue to be led by CEO Richard Hilmer and General Manager Reinhard Schlinkert.
