The Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) has approved a new service, designed to simplify the audit process for Canadian newspapers with circulations below 30,000.ABC provides verified magazine and circulation information via an online database which also includes readership and web site usage data.
The new service, 'Canadian Audit Program 30' (CAP30), features off-site audits conducted biennially, simplified reports and audit procedures, inclusion in FAS-FAX (ABC's top-line circulation report) and ABC's online database for media planners and buyers. It also offers a flat-rate pricing system, and flexible billing options.
Additionally, ABC's Board has approved a new report format for all other Canadian newspapers, which it says reflects a more 'streamlined' approach to reporting circulation data, with the inclusion of key metrics and more 'user-friendly' features.
'ABC continues to provide innovative audit programs and reports that serve the evolving needs of the Canadian marketplace,' states Joan Brehl, VP and General Manager in Canada. 'We're thrilled to offer a cost-effective audit to smaller newspapers under ABC's gold standard.'
Separately, two new directors have joined the organisation's Board: Stacy Boone, Media Manager at Target Corporation, representing US advertisers; and Sara Hill, President of M2 Universal, representing Canadian ad agencies.
New York Times President and General Manager Scott Heekin-Canedy has been elected as Treasurer, replacing retiring treasurer Brian Segal of Rogers Publishing.
