In the US, research veterans Sanjay Vrudhula, Lyle Durbin and Tod Higginbotham have set up a new firm, Reconnaissance Market Research (ReconMR), targeting Texas-based companies with $1 billion or more in revenue.
Vrudhula and Durbin both spent the last seventeen years at full service agency Customer Research International, as President and VP, Client Services respectively. Higginbotham has run his own consultancy Higginbotham Research since 1996.
Their new joint venture will provide sampling, questionnaire development, analysis and reporting services for larger healthcare, retail, media and technology clients that are either based in Texas or have a 'significant presence' in the state.
CEO Durbin explains: 'We saw an opportunity to be the only full-service, custom marketing research firm headquartered in Texas focused exclusively on Texas enterprise clients. Texas is a unique, highly diverse market.'
The partners say they plan to hire ten employees this year and another fifteen in 2013.
