In the US, research software and services firm MarketTools has partnered with new product forecasting specialist Top Box Associates, to provide a 'one-stop approach' to forecasting for new product launches, line extensions and re-launched products.The alliance will combine MarketTools' concept testing and shopper research solutions with Top Box Associates' volume forecast modelling capabilities. The resulting joint solution will integrate product concept screening in a competitive context, along with shopper testing in a virtual store environment to provide a projection of consumer sales volumes.
Top Box Associates' Founding Partner George Ciardi says the new methodology will offer more accurate forecasts than typical approaches to scoring and measuring a new product's potential.
