In the UK, researcher Gemma Stokes has set up an agency called Podengo, to recruit consumers for qualitative research studies.Stokes (pictured) previously served as Research Manager at London-based research, marketing and communications agency Acacia Avenue, prior to which she was Fieldwork Manager and an RE at consumer research specialist Tangible Branding.
The new agency prefers to use the term 'participant' rather than 'respondent', as Stokes says people recruited for qual research should do just that - participate. She adds that by applying her skills as a 'quallie' to the recruitment process, she hopes to provide a higher calibre of research participant.
