Aegis-owned digital creative agency Visual Jazz Isobar (VJI) has extended its NowLab innovation unit network to Melbourne. The lab will help the firm to identify, research and prototype new technologies and platforms for clients across Australia.NowLab, which is already available in Europe, the US, South America and Asia, follows a global model which involves a partnership with the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Media Lab, and focuses on four outputs: 'making things', 'thought leadership', 'knowledge sharing' and 'events'.
Through the new lab, VJI staff will work closely with clients in Australia and use think tank-style collaboration to deliver new ideas.
VJI Managing Director Konrad Spilva (pictured) comments: 'Innovation has always been part of VJI's DNA and introducing NowLab to Australia gives us the opportunity to invest further in creating a true innovation hub within the agency. It offers a collaborative process and already many of our clients have jumped at the opportunity to explore what NowLab can offer.'
VJI is currently looking to recruit robotic engineers and industrial designers to work in the new unit.
