WPP-owned Kantar has acquired digital marketing intelligence specialist AdGooroo, which provides market research services for search engine advertisers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2004 by former Publicis exec Richard Stokes (pictured), Chicago-based AdGooroo offers a suite of tools to help online marketers tap into its database of search and display marketing data, and gain intelligence about their competitors' keywords, ad creative, backlink data and campaign statistics. In addition, these tools enable users to monitor and benchmark the advertising landscape for specific industries.
The firm, which employs 30 people, will become part of Kantar Media, and broaden the division's insight offer for display, video, ad networks and paid search ad trends.
Yesterday, WPP announced it had bought a majority stake in online analytics specialist Bienalto, adding to the numerous acquisitions it made during 2012, including web analytics firm Netbooster Asia last month, and media monitoring and analysis specialist Press Index in the summer.
