US-based Curalate, which offers a monitoring and analytics platform for socially curated sites, has secured $3m in Series A financing, which it will use to ramp up product development and marketing, while expanding to platforms other than Pinterest, including Instagram. The Philadelphia-based firm uses advanced image recognition algorithms to make sense of conversations on visual sites, and enable brands to measure, monitor and extend brand engagement.
Last May, the company raised $750k in seed funding from First Round Capital and from MentorTech Ventures, which also participated in this latest round.
Apu Gupta (pictured), CEO and co-founder of Curalate, comments: 'While numerous tools exist to help brands understand conversations on more traditional social media networks such as Twitter and Facebook, emerging visual networks require a completely new approach. Curalate provides this new approach, with the only visual analytics and marketing platform for the visual web.'
