Healthcare fieldwork firm M3 Global Research has hired eight former employees of Epocrates, following the latter's acquisition by electronic health record provider athenahealth, and the subsequently closure of its QuickRecruit service. M3 has also made ten further appointments.Last year, Epocrates and M3 partnered to create what they describe as 'the world's largest physician and healthcare provider panel' comprising 1.7 million panellists. Epocrates has since been acquired by athenahealth, which will gain access to its network of more than one million healthcare professionals, including 50% of all US physicians.
However, as part of changes to its market research offerings Epocrates has shuttered its QuickRecruit panel and fielding service and will now focus exclusively on its MedInsight Q&A, and Survey Services.
Staff joining the M3 team from Epocrates are Marilyn Blumenthal as Client Specialist; Sheryl Lowenhar as Strategist; Michael Wildt and Estuardo Torres as VPs of Market Research; Amir Forouzan, Beth Reilly and Ambika Sikka as Senior Project Managers; and Michael Bondiskey as Project Manager.
