In the US, Silicon Valley-based social media intelligence platform Swipp has raised $2m in investment funding, while also launching a product called Swipp Plus to provide real-time customer insight around products, brands and offers.Swipp was founded in 2011 by Don Thorson, Charlie Costantini, and Ramani Narayan. The firm, which officially launched in January after a year in beta testing, offers a platform through which to extract intelligence from social media, and combine it with personal and purchasing data.
Swipp Plus identifies top influencers and those who are 'passionate' about a brand, allowing marketers to track the effect of product and service changes on customer sentiment, and benchmark themselves against the competition.
Last summer the firm raised $3.5m from venture capital firm Old Willow Partners, which has also funded this latest round.
