In the UK, Surrey-based full service agency Impact Research has reported turnover of £1.3m for the year to April 2013, almost doubling last year's figure of £716k. For the year, gross margin was £637m, or 48% of turnover.Founded in 2010 by former Holden Pearmain execs Darryl Swift and Michael Brainch, Impact Research provides bespoke quant and qual services for clients in the FMCG, health and personal care, retail, utilities, IT/telecoms, financial, and pharma sectors. Specific methods used include conjoint analysis and CHAID, as well as a range of different techniques for concept and packaging testing.
Last year, half of the firm's revenues were generated by consumer research, while a third came from research with utility customers, and the remainder from retail, travel and B2B research.
