TNS Hires Former O&M Ethnography and Culture Expert

In Shanghai, TNS has appointed former Ogilvy & Mather (O&M) exec Dr Michael Griffiths as Qualitative Research Director and Global Expert in Ethnography and Culture.

Michael GriffithsWhile at ad agency O&M - a sister company of TNS within WPP - Griffiths served as Director of Ethnography in the Consumer Insights and Trends unit. In this role, he was responsible for leading ethnographic and qualitative research projects, creating connections with the academic community in China and internationally, and providing research support and analysis to clients from across the Ogilvy Group in China. He has a PhD from the National Institute of Chinese Studies at the University of Leeds, and is fluent in Mandarin.

In his new role, Griffiths will be responsible for building TNS's ethnographic suite of services and delivering 'culturally relevant' insights to clients. He will report to Anjali Puri, MD, TNS Qualitative in Asia Pacific, and he will also work closely with the China Qualitative team.
