New York-based social media intelligence firm Unmetric has won $5.5m in a second round of funding, which it will use to develop its sales force, expand geographically and add more social media channels to its coverage.
The latest round is led by Singapore-based venture capital firm JAFCO Asia, whose Partner Murli Ravi will join Unmetric's board. Existing investor Nexus Venture Partners also participated.
Unmetric's services allow clients to monitor the performance of competitors' campaign and services are rated on social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and LinkedIn, and making use of 24 different metrics including tags, comments, and views.
Unmetric raised $3.2m in Series A financing in April 2012, and launched a YouTube module three months later. The firm has recently expanded its board of advisors with execs including Mobile Marketing Association CEO Greg Stuart and Brian Condon, EVP, commercial development at Scarborough.
