US-based consumer specialist The NPD Group has launched ReceiptPal, an iPhone app which asks consumers to upload photographs of their receipts in return for rewards. Data is anonymised and aggregated to produce marketing intelligence.Available from the App Store, the free app offers users points towards redeemable rewards and enters them into a draw for a weekly cash prize. Receipts can be photographed or emailed to NPD and users store them in a secure, central location.
Liz Cutting, General Manager of ReceiptPal at NPD, comments: 'People are constantly on the go, always shopping, and don't go anywhere without their mobile phones. With ReceiptPal, they can snap and upload receipts right as they are paying, and be on their way to earning great rewards.'
