BDRC Buys Viewpoint Services

London-based BDRC Group has acquired specialist qual field and viewing studio business Viewpoint Services, from financial services group Rivington Street Holdings (RSH) which has gone into administration. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Viewpoint was established by global agency Illuminas more than 25 years ago. The firm was sold to b2b research specialist IQ in 2008, and subsequently re-sold to RSH in 2010 in a deal valued at £1.5m.

As part of BDRC, Viewpoint, which has an annual turnover of around £2m, will continue to operate as a standalone business led by Gale Blears (pictured), complementing the existing qual work carried out by BDRC-owned telephone and online research agency Perspective Research Services (PRS). Its employees, currently housed in temporary offices in central London, will shortly be moving to BDRC's Holborn offices and focus studio facility.
