Peter Rigby has retired as CEO of London-based business information and events group Informa Plc - whose subsidiaries include research firm Datamonitor - to be replaced by Stephen A. Carter. Group Finance Director Adam Walker has also left the company with effect 31st December.
Informa which bought Datamonitor in 2007, also acquired BI Specialist Zephyr Associates in late 2012.
Rigby (pictured), whose retirement was first announced in July, has been Chief Executive or Executive Chairman of the group and its predecessors since 1988, having joined in 1983.
Carter has been an Informa board director since 2010 and was formerly President / MD EMEA and President / MD Global Managed Services at telecoms and technology group Alcatel-Lucent.
In addition, Dr Pamela Kirby has stepped down as Chair of the Remuneration Committee, and is replaced by Geoffrey Cooper.
