Research company nQuire Services has opened an office in Shanghai, to handle an increasing volume of work in China. Company President Tom Fuller has moved to the country to head up the new business.nQuire was formed in London in 2007, and transferred its headquarters to California in 2009 when it opened an office there. The Shanghai office is the company's third. The new division will offer qual research including focus groups and interviews; quant including online surveys; secondary research including market entry and sizing reports, and competitor analysis; and training for companies wishing to set up their own internal market intelligence departments.
Fuller, who has worked in the research sector for around twenty years, says the new office is the first step in nQuire's ambition to offer pan-Asian coverage. Around a third of its 8.65 million panellists are located in the country: it also has 1.15m in Japan and between ten and five hundred thousand in a further 32 countries.
'It certainly seems like half the companies in the world want to know more about China, while half the companies in China want to know more about the rest of the world', comments Fuller. 'Whether that information consists of consumer opinions given by online survey, telephone interview or focus group, nQuire is well-placed to help.'
