TIBCO Buys Embedded BI Provider Jaspersoft

In the US, infrastructure and business intelligence specialist TIBCO has acquired embedded business intelligence and reporting software provider Jaspersoft for $185m.

Jaspersoft's tools extract and analyse data from multiple sources, and deliver it within apps and business processes through an embeddable reporting platform. TIBCO says the acquisition will accelerate its expansion into the embedded BI market, while complementing its Spotfire data discovery and segmentation solution. As part of the deal, the current Jaspersoft management team and employees will join TIBCO.
