Australian-based insights consultancy Fiftyfive5 has appointed former Clear MD Alan King for a newly created Director role.King will play an active role in the strategic development of the business as well as working with a number of key clients. He worked at Colmar Brunton for three years and then at RI for six and a half before joining Clear UK as MD in November 2005. After another three years he moved to become the Australian MD of the brand research specialist, now owned by M&C Saatchi.
Fiftyfive5 Partner Mark Sundquist says King is 'expertly positioned to work in partnership with our clients to deliver commercially pragmatic solutions that drive growth'.
The firm, whose name is based on a line of Albert Einstein's about the relative importance of framing questions properly versus answering them, has itself seen impressive growth since its founding in 2010 by Karen Phillips, Mark Sundquist and Darren Kemp: it now boasts a team of 40 working for clients in Australia, New Zealand, the US and the UK.
