Big data analytics platform Teradata has acquired the assets of technology firm Hadapt and those of information management products company Revelytix. Terms of both deals remain undisclosed.In a statement, Teradata said the Revelytix acquisition will add new data management and data preparation tools in Hadoop, along with metadata management solutions. From Hadapt, Teradata said it has gained an experienced engineering team with 'deep big data knowledge'.
Teradata will integrate personnel and intellectual property from the two companies into its research and development arm Teradata Labs, whose President Scott Gnau (pictured) comments: 'We welcome Revelytix and Hadapt employees and look forward to their contributions in helping Teradata Labs accelerate delivery of big data solutions for our customers. The addition of the key assets of these companies extends our big data portfolio, and enhances the Teradata Unified Data Architecture.'
