Cross-platform digital media measurement specialist Verto Analytics has raised $2.4m in a second round of funding, which it will use to 'scale up' its cloud-based infrastructure and SaaS-model tools.
New York-based Verto, which also has R&D offices in Finland, provides a broad portfolio of digital media measurement services, with a focus on syndicated research and analytics. In April, the firm hired Arbitron Mobile founder Hannu Verkasalo (pictured) as CEO, while raising $5.4m in new investment funding to extend its current research products to a syndicated model, and to expand operations in key geographies.
The firm's latest round of funding has been led by MySQL investor Open Ocean Capital, and also included participation from current investors Conor Venture Partners and other angel investors.
Tom Henriksson, Partner at Open Ocean Capital, comments: 'We live in a digital world, but the key players are forced to rely on market research delivered using old technologies and methods. Verto Analytics is the first company to offer truly cross-platform digital media measurement and audience research. This is why we wanted to invest in the company and maximize the rapidly expanding market demand for high quality, third party audience measurement data that's delivered as it happens, not weeks or even months later.'
