Social Media Analytics Firm Viralheat Opens in London

San Mateo, CA-based social media analytics specialist Viralheat has opened a European office in London, where it has appointed John Hayes as Marketing Director.

Founded in January 2009 by Rajeev Kadam and Vishal Sankhla, Viralheat monitors content and engagement on the web and across social networks, spotting trends and sentiment, identifying influencers and performing competitive analysis.

CEO Jeff Revoy says the new office will service customers outside the US, adding: 'We are seeing tremendous growth both domestically and internationally, so establishing a presence in Europe is an important first step in our expansion plans. London's growing reputation as the home to many companies that are driving successful social media programs makes the UK a perfect springboard into Europe and beyond.'

Hayes (pictured) joins from social media marketing firm iContact, where he has worked as a marketing strategist for almost four years. During his career, he also served as UK Product Marketing Manager at ChannelAdvisor, Head of eCommerce at DDHE, New Media Manager (Hungary) at Northcliffe Newspapers, and as an Advertising Sales Executive at Aberdeen Journals.
