Kantar's telecoms purchasing and usage trend analysis division, Worldpanel ComTech has launched a new consumer panel in Russia; and has announced it is increasing its panel in China by 50% to 22,000 individuals. The division measures actual consumer behaviour in the telecoms market, across twelve countries - the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, the US, China, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Japan.
In Russia, the panel will comprise 10,000 consumers aged 16+, and around 120,000 interviews will be conducted each year across smartphone sales, usage, loyalty, and carrier dynamics. First results are expected in January 2015.
MD Nic Lewisohn (pictured) comments: 'Russia is among the ten largest world economies and represents a strategically important and dynamic market for our clients. This longitudinal panel will be the biggest and most insightful of its kind and will provide the information to help local and global companies plan and evaluate their commercial strategy in Russia.'
The firm says the expanded China panel will provide deeper insight into niche demographic groups and smaller city tiers.
