Technology research and analysis specialist Gartner has reported a 15% increase in third quarter revenue to $470.9m. For the Research division specifically, revenue was also up 15%, to $365.3m.Stamford, Connecticut-based Gartner has 6,590 associates, including 1,545 research analysts and consultants. During the quarter, the Research division's contribution margin was 69%, compared with 70% in third quarter 2013, while contract value increased 12% to $1.48bn.
Third quarter revenue in the Consulting business increased 17% to $82.3m, but in the Events division it dropped 3% to $23.3m.
Overall for the group, net income was $33.8m, compared with $38.2m in the prior year period, while Normalized EBITDA was $74.7m - essentially unchanged from last year's third quarter.
CEO Gene Hall (pictured) commented: 'Contract value accelerated and total revenue growth remained strong in the third quarter, putting the company in a solid position to deliver double digit revenue and earnings growth for the full year. We remain confident about our market opportunity and growth potential over the long term.'
