Kennedy Info to Sell Consulting Research and G2 Units

Bloomberg subsidiary Kennedy Information is to sell off its management and IT consulting sector analysis division Kennedy Consulting Research & Advisory to legal industry publisher ALM; and its diagnostic laboratory intelligence arm to Plain Language Media. Terms have not been disclosed.

The Consulting Research & Advisory business analyzes client demand trends, current spending and growth forecasts by consulting service area sub-segment, key geography, and client vertical industry; while its G2 Intelligence division provides market and business intelligence to diagnostic laboratory and related healthcare providers.

The first deal includes the acquisition of Kennedy's Consulting Magazine, its consulting services operation, and several market-specific analytic, forecasting and news products. Bill Carter, CEO of ALM says that the buy paves the way for the expansion of his firm's professional services beyond the legal industry.

In the second transaction, multi-platform B2B information service provider Plain Language Media will buy all the G2 Intelligence operations, including newsletters, reports and events, and the firm's Lab Institute annual conference.

Both deals are expected to close on December 31st 2014.
