US-based real-time targeting firm Rocket Fuel has expanded to Latin America with the opening of a new office in São Paulo, Brazil.Rocket Fuel's media-buying platform uses big data and artificial intelligence to improve marketing ROI in digital media across web, mobile, video and social channels. Last August, it acquired online audience targeting firm [x+1] in order to move into the digital marketing SaaS sector, expand its solutions into personalized digital marketing, and help clients make use of their first party data.
In Brazil, Rocket Fuel will partner and work closely with local agencies to develop relevant products and solutions. The office will be led by Edvaldo Acir (pictured), who previously served as MD of India-based ad retargeting firm Vizury, during which time he launched offices in both Brazil and Mexico. Before this, he held leadership positions at Fox International Channels, Terra Networks from Telefonica Group, Movile from Naspers Group, and Abril Group, and he also served as President of IAB's Adtech & Data Committee.
Mark Prior, Rocket Fuel VP, International and Mobile, comments: 'Brazil currently represents half of the ad spend in Latin America, and with rapid advertising technology adoption, it was a natural starting place for Rocket Fuel to centralize our regional operations and demonstrate our commitment to the emerging BRIC markets.'
