Vancouver-based research and brand consultancy The Sound has opened an office in Mumbai, India as a base for further expansion in Asia.
Founded in 2006 by Ian Pierpoint and Emma Richmond, the company now has six offices, with the others in Canada, the US and the UK. As well as its research and consultancy offering, The Sound has a dedicated film team, and produces documentaries both as an output for client projects, and as standalone content for broadcast.
James McLintock takes up the position of Managing Director of The Sound India after more than two years as Research Director at the firm's office in London. Commenting on the launch, he said: 'We've already completed a number of projects in India, but launching in the market is hugely exciting for us. Fundamentally what we do is about uncovering human stories and helping our clients to be inspired by them, and India has millions and millions of stories to tell.'
