Silicon Valley-based big data analytics firm Saama Technologies is planning to expand its presence in India, creating hundreds of new data science related jobs based in a 45,000-square foot office in Pune.Founded in 1997, Saama taps into internal and external data assets to help businesses increase revenue and improve operating efficiencies. Earlier this month, the firm raised $35m in investment funding, which it is using to expand its presence and satisfy market demand for its industry specific analytics solutions.
As part of this expansion, over the next six months Saama will be recruiting additional data science professionals, and expanding its training program. The latter comprises a four-month course where US and India graduates complete data science immersion training together in the same facility in Pune.
Chairman Ken Coleman (pictured) comments: 'The best place to grow a technology center of excellence is around great people, institutions and ideas. Pune offers all these aspects'.
